Yaoxing Aluminum: Detailed Explanation of the Production Process for Aluminum Profile Spraying and Wood Grain Transfer Printing
Our workshop is just producing a batch of wood grain transfer door and window profiles for New Zealand today. Let me share the production process of aluminum profile wood grain transfer printing .Its production process mainly includes the following steps:.

1. Pre-treatment Stage
- Degreasing and Oil Removal: Clean the surface of aluminum profiles with alkaline solution or special degreasing agent to remove impurities such as rolling oil, dust, and fingerprints, ensuring firm adhesion of subsequent coatings.
- Chromating/Passivation Treatment:Adopt chemical conversion film technology (such as chromate treatment or chromium-free passivation) to form a protective film on the surface of aluminum materials, improving corrosion resistance and coating adhesion.
- Water Washing and Drying: Rinse residual chemical agents with pure water, then remove surface moisture through high-temperature drying (usually 60-80°C) to avoid affecting the subsequent spraying effect.
- Primer Spraying
- Select a special primer (mostly powder coating) compatible with the wood grain transfer film, and evenly cover the surface of aluminum profiles through electrostatic spraying.
- After spraying, enter the curing oven and bake at 180-200°C for 15-20 minutes to cure the primer and form a dense coating, enhancing the bonding force between the substrate and subsequent layers.
3. Wood Grain Transfer Stage
- Film Lamination: Tightly wrap the heat transfer film (usually made of polyvinyl chloride) printed with wood grain patterns on the surface of aluminum profiles after primer spraying, and fix it with high-temperature resistant tape to ensure the pattern fits without bubbles.
- Heating Transfer: Put the wrapped profiles into the transfer oven and keep them in a high-temperature environment of 160-200°C for 10-15 minutes. The high temperature makes the wood grain ink on the transfer film sublimate, penetrate into the primer layer and cure, realizing pattern transfer.
- Film Uncovering and Cooling: After taking out the profiles, peel off the transfer film, and let it cool naturally or by forced air cooling to make the wood grain pattern adhere stably.
4. Post-treatment Stage
- Topcoat Spraying: Spray transparent topcoat (such as fluorocarbon paint, polyester paint) as needed to further improve surface gloss, wear resistance, and weather resistance.
- Curing Inspection: Enter the curing oven again to bake and cure the topcoat, then conduct appearance inspection (such as wood grain clarity, coating uniformity) and performance testing (such as adhesion, impact resistance) on the finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
At present, we have realized full-specification customization from 6-meter-long profiles to complex special-shaped parts, and can match exclusive wood grain styles, profile cross-sections, and surface gloss according to your project needs. Whether it is a high-end residence pursuing a natural style or a commercial complex needing a unified visual language, we can provide full-cycle services from sample proofing to mass production.
If you are looking for decorative profiles with both good appearance and performance for your project, please feel free to contact us to obtain the latest wood grain color cards, performance test reports, or make an appointment for an on-site inspection of the factory production process. Our technical team will provide you with one-on-one selection suggestions, making this "breathable metal wood" the highlight of your project.
