This client is a local contractor specializing in custom projects, with a business scope covering various civil and decoration projects. They are highly capable but have no experience in door and window projects. When faced with this large-sized outdoor door and window project, the client was concerned about the compatibility of the product with the on-site environment and the difficulty of subsequent installation, which was complicated and beyond their control. Throughout the entire process, they were filled with numerous concerns. With sufficient patience, solid professional skills, and meticulous and considerate services, we accompanied the client through every key stage from demand confirmation, scheme design, technical breakthroughs to final delivery. Demand Confirmation: Breaking Through Cognitive and Cultural Barriers
In the early stage of communication, the client only sent a original drawing, roughly outlining the size and layout requirements of the customized door and window. However, due to the special nature of the outdoor application of this project - needing to withstand the extreme climate of the UAE, combined with regional cultural differences and the different English and Chinese expression habits, we could not accurately capture the core demands and potential expectations of the client based on the simple annotations on the drawing. The core of customized products lies in "precise adaptation". Rushing to present a solution not only might increase subsequent rework costs but also affect the trust in the cooperation. Therefore, we did not rush to proceed with the design work. Instead, we chose to have multiple rounds of online communication with the client, addressing each question point by point, and ultimately proposed a video connection. We hoped to view the actual situation of the project site, the wall structure, and the reserved installation space through a visual perspective, to ensure that the demand assessment was without error.

One of the core confusions during the communication was the misunderstanding of the term "louvers" mentioned by the client repeatedly. Based on industry conventional understanding, we had always regarded this term as adjustable louvers. We then compiled multiple past completed case studies of louvers, including product photos and scheme explanations of different materials and adjustment methods, and sent them to the client. However, all were clearly rejected by the client. After several rounds of communication, both parties felt somewhat puzzled. We realized that only through on-site visuals could we solve this cognitive problem. Until the video connection, when the camera was focused on the installation position reserved by the client, we suddenly understood: The "louvers" mentioned by the client were not the traditional adjustable louvers structure, but a fixed grille welded by aluminum strips. This was the local building materials industry's common term for this type of component. We immediately adjusted our thinking and retrieved the company's past cases of aluminum square tube grille projects, including detailed diagrams of different specifications and welding processes for the client to confirm. The client immediately stated that this was exactly the product they needed. Finally, both parties reached a consensus on this core demand, and the heavy burden in our hearts was relieved. This experience has taught us profoundly that in cross-border customized cooperation, "seeing is believing" sometimes outweighs thousands of words. Only by actively breaking through communication barriers and accurately capturing the client's true needs can we lay a solid foundation for the subsequent cooperation. 


Custom Design: Overcoming Technical Challenges to Meet Special Requirements
After gaining a comprehensive understanding of the on-site environment, wall structure and the client’s core demands through video communication, we developed a clear modular door and window solution: the left section is designed as a double door to facilitate rapid personnel access; the middle section is fitted with a single door for daily convenience; and the right section features a vertical folding door to enable flexible opening and closing for outdoor spaces. Given the uniqueness of the client’s application scenario, this solution involved a number of targeted technical modifications. Every challenge served as a direct testament to the professionalism and problem-solving commitment of our technical team.


1.Vertical Folding Window-to-Door Conversion
The customer requested a custom vertical folding door, which exceeded the scope of our regular product line - our conventional vertical folding products are ventilation and lighting windows, mainly used for indoor and outdoor ventilation and air exchange, and the structural design did not consider the load-bearing requirements and safety standards for personnel passage. This renovation requires overcoming two core challenges: First, to restructure the existing folding window system and optimize the frame strength and connection method to make it compatible with the load-bearing standards of the door and the frequent opening and closing usage scenarios; second, to ensure that the reserved height after vertical folding can meet the comfort and safety requirements for adults' daily passage, avoiding the inconvenience of bending and lowering the head. The standard folding window reserved height after opening is approximately 1.6 meters, only meeting the ventilation requirements and far from the standards for personnel passage. The technical team focused on optimizing the folding mechanism, repeatedly modifying the folding fan connecting rod structure, adjusting the accuracy of the transmission gear meshing, and conducting five rounds of load-bearing tests and over 10 times of smoothness tests for opening and closing, continuously optimizing the connection nodes and transmission logic, and gradually increasing the usable height after folding. After multiple rounds of technical iterations and detailed refinement, the usable height after folding was steadily increased to 1.75 meters, fully meeting the customer's usage requirements. After the customer viewed the test video, they highly recognized our technical breakthrough capabilities.

2. Removal of the bottom frame and stability guarantee
Our standard folding window products are all equipped with an integrated bottom frame, which can strengthen the overall structural stability and improve the sealing performance, resisting sand and rain invasion from the outside. However, the customer's site ground has already been tiled and inspected, and they clearly requested to remove the folding door bottom frame to avoid damaging the existing ground decoration effect. The removal of the bottom frame will directly change the force-bearing structure of the door, easily causing the door to deform, opening and closing to be stuck, or even falling off, which is another key problem in the project progress. The technical team specifically built a simulation test framework to restore the installation environment at the customer's site, by adjusting the connection method between the door frame and the folding fan, optimizing the internal force distribution, and reinforcing the connection points between the upper and lower tracks and the wall, etc., through multiple structural strength tests and long-term opening and closing simulation tests, finally verifying the feasibility of the bottom frame removal design, ensuring that the door can still run stably and smoothly open and close in the long term, successfully solving this technical bottleneck.

3. Selection of weather-resistant PVC board
The customer explicitly proposed to replace the glass with PVC board as the middle material of the folding door, mainly due to cost control and lightweighting requirements. However, ordinary PVC boards have shortcomings such as thin texture, weak anti-aging performance, poor heat resistance, and prone to cracking under ultraviolet radiation, making them unable to adapt to the harsh outdoor environment in the UAE, such as high summer temperatures, strong ultraviolet radiation, and significant temperature differences between day and night. Moreover, this product is used outdoors, with extremely high requirements for durability and anti-aging performance. To ensure the product's service life and avoid later maintenance and replacement problems, we actively selected suitable alternative materials for the customer, and finally settled on a thick outdoor-specific weather-resistant PVC board. This board has a thickness 50% higher than ordinary PVC boards and contains anti-ultraviolet and anti-high-temperature aging components, which can be used stably in the range of -20°C to 60°C. We also provided detailed performance test reports, including data parameters for high-temperature tests, anti-ultraviolet tests, and aging tests, to systematically explain the selection logic and durability guarantee basis to the customer. This professional consideration beyond the simple business scope made the customer truly feel our sense of responsibility and service sincerity.


4. Installation and operation compatibility of aluminum grilles (louvers)
After clarifying that the grille is what the customer refers to as "louvers", a new compatibility problem emerged. The customer requested to add aluminum grilles on each PVC door panel, serving both as decoration and enhancing the structural strength of the door panel. For double doors and swing doors, only welding the grilles to the door panel frame can meet the requirements; However, for folding doors, the thickness of the grille may interfere with the folding action of the door body, and the additional weight may also affect the preset 1.75-meter lifting height, and even cause faults in the transmission mechanism. Through repeated tests on different specifications and thicknesses of aluminum profiles, we compared and analyzed the balance relationship between weight and structural strength, and finally determined to use 30*15 specifications of thin-walled aluminum profiles to make the grille. This ensures structural strength while minimizing weight as much as possible. The entire production process of the grille is subject to strict quality control standards: first, the aluminum profiles are precisely cut according to the CAD drawings, with an error controlled within ±0.5mm; after being manually welded by professional workers, surface sandblasting, rust removal, and electrostatic spraying for anti-corrosion treatment are carried out to enhance the outdoor corrosion resistance; finally, neutral glass glue is evenly applied and fixed to the PVC door panel, ensuring both connection firmness and avoiding damage to the surface of the corrugated sheet. The entire process of grille production strictly adheres to quality control standards: precise cutting of aluminum profiles based on CAD drawings, with an error controlled within ±0.5mm; after being manually welded by professional workers, surface sandblasting, rust removal, and electrostatic spraying for anti-corrosion treatment are carried out; finally, neutral glass glue is evenly applied and fixed to the PVC door panel, ensuring both connection firmness and avoiding damage to the surface of the corrugated sheet. After each grille installation is completed, opening and closing tests and height calibration are carried out simultaneously to ensure that the grille does not affect the normal folding of the door body, always maintaining the 1.75-meter passage height standard, and balancing aesthetics and practicality.

5.Delivery and installation support: Carefully addressing customer concerns
Since the client has no practical experience in window and door projects, team members have no experience in folding door installation. The installation of the goods after delivery has always been the biggest concern for them - especially since folding doors involve balanceers, transmission components, tracks and other precision parts, and the installation process is relatively complex and requires high professionalism. To completely eliminate customer concerns and ensure the smooth implementation of the project, we have specifically adopted two key guarantee measures.
On one hand, we actively communicate and coordinate with our long-term cooperating freight forwarders regarding the shipping plan. According to the regular process, window sashes, aluminum frames, and accessories are packaged and shipped separately, which not only saves transportation space and controls transportation costs, but also facilitates storage, circulation and loading/unloading. However, considering the client's installation difficulties, splitting the shipment will further increase the assembly difficulty. We repeatedly consulted the freight forwarders and verified the feasibility of shipping the folding door as a whole without disassembly. Due to the large size of the entire folding door, which exceeds 4 meters in length, it not only involves an increase in transportation costs, but also requires confirmation of the transportation route restrictions in the United Arab Emirates, the specifications of delivery vehicles, and the unloading conditions at the construction site. We jointly calculated the size and weight of the goods, optimized the packaging protection plan, used a wooden frame for reinforcement packaging to avoid deformation and damage during transportation, and coordinated local delivery resources to confirm that it can reach the client's construction site directly. After multiple rounds of communication and negotiation, we finally determined a feasible shipping plan. This significantly simplified the installation process, and after the client receives the goods, they only need to complete the positioning and fixation of the door body and door opening, as well as the track debugging, greatly reducing the operational difficulty.
On the other hand, we have specially prepared detailed installation guidance materials for the client. Even if the entire set is shipped, the door frame fixation, balanceer debugging, and installation of hardware accessories still require professional guidance. We specially compiled a graphic and textual installation manual, clearly marking the installation methods, tool lists, tightening torque requirements, and precautions for balanceers, various accessories, and door frames, with high-definition real-time pictures assisting understanding; at the same time, for core steps such as balanceer debugging and track calibration, we shot exclusive teaching videos, accompanied by bilingual subtitles and voice explanations, making it convenient for the client's team to view and refer at any time. The client sent feedback after receiving these materials, stating that this detailed and comprehensive support enabled them to steadily advance the project without the need to hire a professional installation team, and their confidence in the cooperation has grown even more.


Quality control: Delivering trust with strict standards
Before each set of custom product leaves the factory, it will be subject to a full-dimensional inspection in accordance with our internal comprehensive quality control system, and this set of doors and windows destined for the United Arab Emirates is no exception.
