Our Factory Aluminum Wood Grain Transfer Process
I. Pre-Processing Steps
Substrate Preparation & Cutting: 6063-T5 aluminum alloy is selected as the base material, which is precision-cut to custom dimensions with edges smoothed to eliminate burrs.
Degreasing & Oxide Removal: The substrate undergoes 10-15 minutes of alkaline cleaning (soaking or spraying) to remove surface oil stains and oxide film.
Pickling, Neutralization & Rinsing: A phosphoric acid-based pickling process removes remaining oxides, followed by acid neutralization and 3-4 cycles of water rinsing to ensure surface purity.
Drying Process: The cleaned substrate is dried at 80-120℃ for 30 minutes to achieve complete moisture elimination.
Primer Application (Optional): A dedicated primer is coated onto the surface, then cured at 120-150℃ to form a 5-10μm primer layer for enhanced adhesion.
II. Core Wood Grain Transfer
Transfer Paper Lamination: Wood grain transfer paper is tightly adhered to the aluminum substrate, with edges fixed using high-temperature resistant tape to prevent air bubbles and wrinkles during processing.
Vacuum Heat Treatment: The laminated substrate is placed in a vacuum transfer oven (vacuum degree ≥ -0.09MPa) and heated at 160-200℃ for 20-40 minutes, allowing the ink to sublimate and penetrate deeply into the aluminum surface.
Cooling & Paper Removal: After cooling to below 80℃, the transfer paper is peeled off, leaving a durable, natural wood grain finish.
III. Post-Processing & Quality Assurance
Edge Refinement: Edges are trimmed to remove residual debris, and any local imperfections are corrected for a uniform appearance.
Protective Coating: A polyurethane topcoat or laminating film is applied, then dried at 120-140℃ for 20-30 minutes to form a 10-15μm protective layer, enhancing durability and resistance.
Quality Control Inspection: Random sampling tests are performed, including cross-cut adhesion (≥ Grade 0), scratch resistance (≥ 3H), and salt spray corrosion resistance (≥ 500 hours), all meeting ASTM/CE/ISO standards.
Finished Product Packaging: Products are cut and shaped according to customer orders, then packaged with moisture-proof materials to ensure product integrity during transportation.
